Will laser hair removal work anywhere on the body?
Laser hair removal works virtually anywhere on the body.

What are the most common areas?
For women, upper lip, chin, underarms, eyebrows, bikini, and legs.

For men, back and shoulders, front of the neck, which is a common place for ingrown hairs, and glabella-the space between the eyebrows. Other common areas: ears, nose, chest and abdomen. Most men prefer thinning the hair but others like complete removal.

What is the most popular procedure?
For women, the bikini area is one of our most popular treatment areas.

A popular option for men—thin the hair on the arms, underarms or full legs.

Do you offer Brazilian laser hair removal?
We offer any level of bikini treatment from a basic limited bikini to complete pubic hair removal, also known as the Brazilian. No need to be embarrassed, as nurses, we are comfortable offering the procedure.

What if I am not sure if I want a full Brazilian?
If you are looking for an "almost Brazilian" we call this the limited bikini. With this style all pubic hair is removed except a small patch near the top and front. Because the limited bikini is so popular, during a consultation, we would be delighted to share which styles appeal to most women.

What about maintenance or re-growth?
We will talk to you about how to achieve the least amount of maintenance.

Is laser hair removal really permanent?
Yes-the procedure is permanent in most people after 6-8 treatments. After several treatments, hair grows back finer and thinner. Depending on your hair removal goals, eventually, most clients experience significant hair reduction.

Some clients want to reduce the number of hairs or minimize coarseness. It's easily accomplished within 2-4 treatments. Other clients prefer significant clearance of hair-typically accomplished within 6-8 treatments.

Does laser hair removal hurt?
Considered minimal pain, it's like getting snapped by a rubber band. Because we adjust the amount of energy delivered to the skin, treatments are effective yet comfortable. Our lasers deliver a cool stream of air that blows over the skin immediately before the laser fires.

Why should I come to you?
• We offer Registered Nurses that treat you in our clean professional clinic.
• Fair competitive pricing.
• We always use the latest state-of-the-art, FDA-approved medical equipment.
• Location—Conveniently located in Broomfield, Colorado.  Close to home or work.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
Most clients require about 6-8 treatments for significant hair removal. Clients with less hair to remove or who simply want finer hair or less re-growth require fewer treatments.

Why does it take more than one treatment?
Because hair grows in three cycles-early, active and late.
The laser only disables hairs in the active stage of growth.  While laser treatments target active hairs, it also weakens hairs in the early and late stages of growth. When those hairs grow back, they often appear lighter in color and finer in texture.
Sometimes results are noticed after just one treatment, but we recommend additional treatments to achieve significant hair removal.

What other permanent hair removal methods are available?
Electrology is a proven permanent hair removal method that works with any hair color. It is a hair-by-hair treatment that requires inserting a needle into the hair follicle. The needle emits both heat and electricity to disable the hair. Electrology requires regular treatments, about every 3 weeks, for several years.  With laser treatment, we can treat a much larger area (up to the size of a quarter) in a much shorter time period (6-8 months) without the discomfort of a needle.

Why would someone opt for electrology if laser is quicker and easier?
With laser technology, dark hair draws laser energy to the root—generally the darkest and thickest part of the hair. When dark hair intermixes with white or gray hair, the laser only "sees" the dark hair. Sometimes with thin (or velous) hair, laser permanency is weaker since thinner hair draws less laser energy. Whereas with electrology, it destroys hair follicles regardless of hair color, making it the more permanent method.

Why do you recommend laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is fast, convenient, and has minimal side effects. It can save up you about 10 minutes a day by skipping the full leg shave. Think of the money you have spent on razors, shaving creams, bleaching creams and eyebrow waxes. Say good-bye to expensive, time-consuming hair elimination methods.

How long has laser technology been in use?
Lasers for hair removal have been around for 15+ years, although lasers have been used in medicine since 1961.

What is the difference between an IPL and a laser?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and is not a laser. IPL is often used for hair removal, but it is best reserved for overall improvement of skin tone and texture. Our Nd:Yag laser can also be used for skin tone and texture but is best for hair removal. We do not market our laser for skin tone and texture (just like we feel the IPL should not be marketed as laser hair removal).

What about those home hair removal devices?
By necessity, laser hair removal devices for the home are low powered devices which are designed to be safe for non-medical users with no formal training. These are hand held, battery powered units, requiring frequent recharging and which cost several hundred dollars. Compare these to our professional lasers, with specific wavelengths for both light skin and dark skin and which are operated by specially trained medical professionals.

How do the results compare for the home hair removal devices vs the professional office lasers?
Home hair removal devices report to give similar results to "those expensive in office laser machines". However, a recent study of an FDA approved Silk'n laser hair removal home device was published by Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, a leading scientific laser journal. The 10 people in the study had 4 to 6 treatments. The results, 4 weeks after the last treatment, demonstrated an average of 36% hair reduction. However, 12 weeks later the hair had mostly returned, and the amount lost was not considered statistically significant. In fact, 4 of the 10 had a higher hair count after 12 weeks than when they started!

Laser Nail Fungus Treatment FAQ's

Laser treatment for toenail fungus (onychomycosis) is a relatively new procedure but has already shown promising results for long term success. The laser works by heating up the fungus in the nail bed and nail plate, easily vaporizing the fungal infection. It is a simple procedure that is done in a clinic by Registered Nurses at a competitive, affordable price.

How many treatments does it usually take to rid a nail of fungus?
Often a series of three treatments at a 4 week interval is enough to vaporize the nail fungus.

How soon will I see results?
Slowly over a period of 3-4 months, patients can expect to see improvement in their nails at a rate consistent with that of the new nail growth. It often takes 6-9 months, or more, for the new healthy nail to grow out and replace the damaged nail.

Can I use nail polish on my toes during or after the treatment?
You need to have the nail polish removed for the treatment. We recommend no polish until the damaged nail has grown out. If "needed" do not leave polish on for prolonged periods of time and be sure to treat with an antifungal liquid even when polish is on.

Fingernail Fungus - Can this be used to treat a fingernail instead of a toe nail?
Absolutely, if you have you toenails and fingernails infected we can do a combo pricing of both areas to be sure to get all that fungus!

Is there any guarantee?
The studies on laser treatment for toenail fungus are extremely encouraging, and to date, no known side effects have been found. Long-term effects for laser treatment for toenail fungus are promising. Coupled with good hygiene of the toes, and follow up treatment with a topical anti-fungal products, patients should experience good, long-term result in the elimination of the toe nail fungus. Our laser is FDA approved and all consultations and treatments are done by RN's.

Is there any down time after receiving the treatment on all the toe nails?
There is no downtime following the procedure. You can go about your daily schedule immediately following the visit!

How does the nail fungus laser work?
A toenail fungus laser works by shining a focused beam of light in a narrow range, more commonly known as a laser, into a toenail infected with fungus (onychomycosis). The laser penetrates the toenail and vaporizes fungus embedded in the nail bed and nail plate where toenail fungus exists.

Is toenail laser treatment painful?
The focused, targeted laser light beam will have no effect on healthy tissue, and will only target the infected areas. Most clients describe the treatment as "gradually warm and then suddenly hot". Treatment is stopped when the toe is hot. The heat dissipates instantly with a quick pinch to the toenail.

How long does the toenail laser treatment take?
It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to do a complete treatment. This time block also allows us to clarify our recommended post treatment routine.

How soon will I see improvement to my toenails after treatment with a laser?
On average, any toenail will replace itself every 6 to 9 months through natural growth. Healthy new growth will be visible within the first 3-4 months as the new nail replaces the old.

Is the laser toenail fungus treatment safe?
In clinical studies on a variety of lasers there have been no adverse reactions, injuries, disabilities or known side effects from use of lasers to treat toenail fungus infection. As you may know, the use of oral nail fungus medication available today for treatment of nail fungus carries with it possible systemic involvement (commonly the liver and kidney). The laser toenail treatment only affects the direct treatment area-nothing systemic.

Do I have to take any drugs as part of the laser toenail fungus treatment?
No. Some doctors may prescribe topical or oral medication in conjunction with treatment depending on your situation and their diagnosis. We are RN (Registered Nurses) and do not diagnosis toe nail fungus, nor can we prescribe any medications. Once your toe nail fungus is diagnosed, we offer an affordable, effective treatment option done by RN's in a clean, friendly, professional clinic setting.

Will I be able to walk after laser toenail fungus treatment?
You will be able to walk out of the office just as well as you walked in. The nails do not look any different, since results are not seen until the new nail has started to grow out. The laser toenail fungus treatment will not harm you in any way. Toenails are dead cells, the laser targets living fungus inside the nail. During the procedure your RN will ask you to let us know when the nail is hot, then that nail is done. We want to heat the nail to hot three times to be sure to vaporize the fungus.

Does my insurance pay for this?
Currently the laser toenail fungus procedure is not included as a health insurance benefit in any plan that we know of. Insurance plans will consider the laser toenail fungus treatment a cosmetic / aesthetic procedure and therefore does not provide coverage.

What is a Photo Facial?
A Photo Facial is a technique for removing discoloration in the skin resulting in an even and youthful appearance. This procedure is non-surgical and requires no down-time.

How Does a Photo Facial Work?
The Photo Facial utilizes intense pulsed light that is applied to the area being treated. The pulsed light penetrates the skin. Heat impairs pigmentation or vessels and the body begins its natural healing process. The pigmented area will darken and flake off and vessels will be reabsorbed into the body. The skins appearance is left more youthful with even tones and reduced redness.

What Are The Benefits Of a Photo Facial Treatment?
The Photo Facial will improve the following conditions:

  • Sun and age spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve uneven pigmentation and red flushing of the skin
  • Smooth skin and even the skins tone
  • Improve the appearance of Rosacea and broken capillaries

How Will My Skin Look After A Photo Facial Treatment?
It is normal for the skin to look and feel flushed or red after the treatment (similar to a mild sunburn). Brown pigmented spots will become darker and capillaries may appear more visible for a short period of time. Most individuals can resume social activities immediately following the treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I need?
The condition of your skin and the desired results will determine the number of necessary treatments. Some individuals notice significant improvement in 2-3 treatments. For optimal results 4-6 treatments are recommended in 4 week intervals.

Micro-Needling Treatment FAQ's

Does micro needling hurt?
Although we are using 11 needles to poke many tiny holes in your skin, it is done with a vibrating pen device that glides over the skin; most describe the procedure as "abrasive" or "scratchy". Some of the more "abrasive" areas are the forehead and the lip, but it seems to be more "irritating" than "painful".

How many treatments do I need?
Although you will see improvement after only one procedure, most clients do a series of 4-6 treatments at a 4 week interval for optimal results.

Can I do the treatment sooner than every 4 weeks?
No, the treatment area requires healing time. Although the skins surface looks healed and improved in 24-48 hours, there is still a lot of repair and collagen and elastin building going on under the skin.

Are there any contraindications to doing micro needling?
Yes, contraindications include: Keloid scars, immunosuppresant therapy, accutane (within the last 6 months), pregnacy, anticoagulants, uncontrolled diabetes, suspicious lesions, active cold sore, current acne lesion, or sun burn in the treatment area.

Does this procedure affect my botox or fillers?
No micro needling within 48 hours of a botox injection.
No micro needling within 2 weeks of any fillers.

How long does the procedure take?
A typical treatment takes about an hour, including a topical anesthetic that takes about 20 minutes to prepare the skin.

Can I go back to work after the procedure:
You will look red and irritated on the day of the procedure, and the skin is quite porous so we prefer you go home and don't do anything to the skin until end of day. You can wash the treatment area with a mild cleanser and apply moisture. No makeup or sunscreens for 12-24 hours.

How will I look the day after the procedure?
You will look a little irritated and maybe a little "puffy", but mostly less tired, dehydrated and younger! The micro-needling allows direct placement of product into the dermis of the skin so you get instant hydration and a noticeable improvement right away. It will take 60-90 days for the collagen stimulation effect to start to show-so it keeps getting better!
